Client: E4L (Interserve Project Services Ltd) for Leeds City Council
Description: This project comprises of 4 new Secondary Schools and 2 refurbished Secondary schools. This project is in association with 2 other firms, GHM Rock Townsend and Faulkner Browns. Basic construction is similar in all of the WGI Schools. Teaching blocks are of concrete frames with in-situ floor slabs and roofs, with metal studwork internal walls. Large single storey spaces, such as piazzas, halls and sports halls are of steel frames with lightweight metal roofs. Wall facing is a mixture of brickwork, blockwork, rainscreen panels, metal panels and render. The buildings have been designed for natural light and natural ventilation.
